I’m Sharyn — a storyteller with a camera, a sketchbook, and a deep love of the stage.
Since 2011, I’ve been part of the Theatre Orangeville family, stepping into the role of Executive Director in 2020. My career in theatre has given me a front-row seat to the magic of live performance — and inspired me to capture that magic through illustration, graphic design, and photography.
I have been a life-long artist, and first trained in photography and graphic design many years ago. I’ve been creating in one medium or another ever since — from eye-catching show posters to bold promotional images. My work is about visual storytelling: making an audience feel something before the curtain even rises.
Beyond theatre, I create art purely for myself — filling sketchbooks with watercolour and ink drawings of the everyday things that catch my eye, from tiny botanical details to found objects on the beach. I also design graphics for products like tote bags, stationery, and other pieces that let art slip into daily life in unexpected ways.
Also: I may or may not have a greenhouse full of tropical plants… but that’s another story.
